Founded in 1861, and located in the heart of downtown Seattle, University of Washington is one of the oldest public universities on the West Coast. Its multi-campus university extends out to the Tacoma and Bothell areas, and includes the well-known University of Washington Medical Center. In addition to the spectacular campus, UW has available to their 48,000-student enrollment, 16 colleges and schools, with 1800 undergraduate courses available for their choosing. ATHLETICS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON IN SEATTLE
Husky Stadium is home to the University of Washington football team. Opened in 1920, Husky Stadium is known for being one of the loudest stadiums in college football, and was voted the most scenic football structure in the nation. In addition, some game attendees looking to tailgate before games arrive on boats because the stadium is so close to Lake Washington – an experience you’ll have a hard time finding at other universities. Finally, Husky Stadium is known to be the largest stadium in the Northwest with a seating capacity of 72,500.

University of Washington Medical Center
The UW Medical Center opened in 1959, and was called University Hospital at the time. Starting as one of the smallest teaching hospitals, it eventually became a leader in healthcare innovation. Eventually, this small teaching hospital would go on to be recognized as a nationally renowned hospital.
Holding the #1 spot in primary care for sixteen consecutive years, the University of Washington School of Medicine is nationally recognized for the commitment to community service through volunteer activities of students, staff, faculty, and alumni. Seattle Children's Hospital
The hospital was founded in 1907, and at the time was named the Children’s Orthopedic Hospital. Today, Seattle Children’s has over 250 beds and provides world-class clinical care and pioneering research, and at the same time provides an atmosphere of energy, love, and perseverance – qualities that define the community. The mission of the Seattle Children’s Hospital is to prevent, treat, and eliminate pediatric disease.
